One of my friends was lamenting on facebook about feeling like a bad parent because she didn’t let her girls go trick-or-treating this year.  I’m not certain, but I believe this has to do with religious reasons.  Whatever… if that’s what she wants to do with her kids, so be it.

But.  BUT.  In her facebook post, someone left this comment:

I don’t condone others who celebrate, but my conviction has been strong to stand out a part from the world. son had intentions of sharing Jesus with everyone who stopped by…that didn’t quite happen, but next year we’ll add scriptures to candy. hang in there…maybe have them think of ways that they can be Light on this dark night, for next year. I know of people who have their house open, music (christian) playing, table set out on their lawn and they really use it as a witnessing tool…this is a night when people actually come to your door wanting something. why not give them what you have! plus candy…

This is not… not… NOT… OK.  NO.  Absolutely not.  Not under any circumstances.  It has actually somewhat infuriated me and I’m trying very hard NOT to respond on facebook out of respect for my friend.
